Javier “El Tucán” Kim – Managing Director

Javier “El Tucán” Kim is the heart and hands behind JKL AERO. With nearly a decade of hands-on experience in aviation, Javier launched the company to bring integrity, honesty, and personalized support to an industry that too often overlooks smaller aircraft owners.

Javier began his journey in aviation after moving to North Carolina with no job in sight — eventually landing a role in parts brokering that opened the door to a career working across everything from experimental planes to heavy cargo aircraft. His true passion, however, lies in supporting personal aviation: training aircraft, hobby flyers, and light sport models that serve real people, not just big budgets.

Known for his relentless curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and refusal to cut corners, Javier believes that no plane is too small and no client is ever left behind. He runs JKL AERO independently, blending technical expertise with a deeply human approach. While he still gets motion sickness on flights, his love for aviation and the people in it is what keeps him grounded — and keeps his clients in the air.

When he’s not working on aircraft, Javier spends his time helping the elderly, playing precision sports like pool and darts, and cheering for FC Barcelona.
